Police in riot gear have been deployed to northwest London following Morocco’s World Cup exit..
The quarter final between Morocco and France saw the team lose 2-0 to one of the tournament’s favourites.
During and after the game, crowds gathered on Edgware Road, with emergency services also rushing to the scene.
Footage circulating on social media shows clashes occurring between fans and police guarding the street.
Riot police were deployed to the road to disperse crowds
Videos from half time see fireworks and flares let off as fans stood on bannisters waving flags. Swarms of people were spotted running through the street as the explosives were lit.
Clips show the crowds causing huge delays in traffic as cars were forced to a standstill.
The latest video shows lines of Metropolitan Police officers on the road, in riot gear, with shields, attempting to disperse the large groups.
In one of the clips posted on social media one of the force appears to be on the floor as other emergency service workers attend to them.
It has been reported that the officer suffered injuries and there have been some arrests due to the incident.
