New Delhi: Hina Nagarajan, former Managing Director and CEO of Diageo India and current President of Diageo Africa, has announced that she will transition to a portfolio career after nearly four decades in the FMCG industry.
Sharing the update on LinkedIn, Nagarajan said the decision was inspired by a desire to spend more time with her family, particularly her first grandchild, while pursuing board positions, advisory assignments and private equity opportunities.
She said she would also continue mentoring the next generation of business leaders and supporting companies in their growth journeys.
Her corporate career spans nearly 40 years across FMCG companies and leadership roles in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, India, and Africa.
Nagarajan joined Diageo after serving as Senior Vice-President and Regional Director, North Asia, at Reckitt. She previously led Diageo’s Africa Emerging Markets business before becoming Managing Director and CEO of Diageo India.
In April 2025, she was appointed President of Diageo Africa and joined the company’s Global Executive Committee. She was succeeded at Diageo India by former HT Media MD and CEO Praveen Someshwar.
Nagarajan said she plans to remain active through board roles, advisory work and mentoring while spending more time with her family.
