A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a collision in a Derbyshire town street.

On Monday, April 6, at just after 1.50pm, a Ford Kuga was in collision with a pedestrian in Street Lane, Ripley.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. She remains in hospital, officers added.

The driver of the Ford Kuga, a 32-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, driving whilst unfit through drugs and failing to stop.

He has been bailed as investigations continue.
