Wake The Tiger has announced the name of its new London attraction: Absurd City.
The 80,000-square-foot experience is opening at Westfield London on 15 October and is described as a place “where logic breaks down, a parallel world connects, and reality refuses to behave”.
Set to be the largest immersive art experience in Europe, Absurd City is a self-guided, interactive walkthrough experience suitable for all ages and abilities.

Visitors will travel through a portal into a vast and vivid cityscape with four districts filled with unfolding stories, unexpected discoveries, secret passageways and art installations.
“Whether you’re new to the world of Meridia or a seasoned Daytripper, the self-guided experience is designed to spark imagination regardless of age, ability or persuasion,” said Luke Mitchell, chief creative officer and co-founder of Wake The Tiger.
“It’s trippy, it’s weird and it’s waiting for us all to jump right in.”

Graham MacVoy, CEO and co-founder of Wake The Tiger, said: “Absurd City is an invitation to rediscover hope and community through a creative lens.
“We are here to challenge convention, spark curiosity and prove that a different kind of world is possible and worth building together.”
Created by the artistic team behind the Boomtown music festival, Wake The Tiger’s first location launched in Bristol in 2022 and has attracted more than half a million visitors.

It features immersive environments including underwater worlds, mechanical chambers, hidden passageways and ice caves.
“There is no blueprint for Absurd City,” said Mitchell.
“It’s been a beautifully chaotic process driven by some of the UK’s finest underground artists, robotic experts and makers. We’ve built a cosmic, eccentric and deeply human playground that we can’t wait for London to explore.”
