Further remains have been located after the skull was discovered in the north London woods

A horrified council worker found a human skull hanging from a tree in London woodlands.

The skull was discovered in north London by an Enfield council worker on Tuesday, April 7 around midday. Emergency services were called to Brooke Woods where the remains where spotted.

The force have since located 80 per cent of the rest of the bones which were underneath the skull alongside ID. Police have said that

It is estimated the body had been there since September 2022.

A Met spokesperson said: “Around 12:00hrs on Tuesday, 7 April, officers were called to Brooke Wood, Enfield, following the discovery of suspected human remains.

“Officers attended. Enquiries continue to establish the circumstances but the matter is not believed to be suspicious at this stage.”
