New Delhi: Standard Chartered has appointed Kavita Kulkarni as Chief Technology & Operations Officer for India and South Asia.
Based in Mumbai, Kulkarni will be part of the bank’s India Country Management Team. She will be responsible for executing its technology and operations strategy while supporting business priorities across the region.
Kulkarni brings more than 25 years of experience in banking, wealth management and technology, having worked with multinational financial institutions in India, the UK and the US.
Before joining Standard Chartered, she served as Managing Director and Chief Information Officer for Private Banking and Wealth Management at Barclays Bank. In that role, she led global technology and operations teams and worked on the adoption of artificial intelligence across delivery processes.

Kulkarni holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in computer science from Karnataka University and an MBA in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
