Money has come pouring in for North East dance icon MC Tazo to win Britain’s Got Talent after his audition aired to millions over the weekend. And, with odds of 100/1 on him taking this year’s title, given just how many people are talking about his performance, he’s well worth a punt!
We here at ChronicleLive were as shocked as anyone when we got the email on Friday to say that Tazo would be on Britain’s Got Talent. Definitely not a headline we were expecting to be writing at the weekend, but seeing the man whose entertained revellers at long gone night club The New Monkey and at big events like Clubland, Noughty 90s and Lost Minds Festival, on one of the biggest shows on TV, was amazing.
Tazo, real name Kevin Hogg, headed from his home in Gateshead down to Blackpool to try out for BGT, aiming to impress the judges with a rap all about the long-running ITV programme. As he encouraged the audience to get ‘waving and raving,’ MC Tazo had KSI bouncing around in his seat, with Simon Cowell also appearing to be a bit of a fan.
And, after they both buzzed and then gave Tazo a ‘no’, it looked like Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden had crushed his dreams, only for Ant and Dec to swoop in from the wings and demand they had a casting vote to put him through.
While we don’t know yet if MC Tazo will be in the live semi finals, odds are already being offered on him winning Britain’s Got Talent 2026, with stats revealing that 44% of all bets placed since Saturday night, being put on the 100/1 shot.
By Tuesday lunchtime, the YouTube video of MC Tazo’s BGT audition had notched up close to 200,000 views, with 10,000 likes on the clip shared on Britain’s Got Talent Instagram account and a further 20,400 likes on Facebook.
