Barclays has opened a new office in Reading.<\/p>\n
Located at Apex Plaza, the office brings together teams specialising in banking, relationship management and technology.<\/p>\n
It forms part of Barclays’ location strategy, which aims to bring teams closer together to strengthen innovation and collaboration.<\/p>\n
Andrew Sharman, newly appointed Barclays Corporate Director for Reading, said: “Our new Reading office underlines our commitment to the Thames Valley.<\/p>\n

Fundraiser for Caversham mum who died suddenly leaving behind 6 children<\/a> “With its technology and capabilities, it will help us attract top talent and deliver even better service for our customers.<\/p>\n “I am proud of the local opportunities we are creating through jobs, community initiatives and business support.”<\/p>\n With nearly 120 employees, the office strengthens Barclays’ contribution to the local economy and complements its existing presence in the town, including the Broad Street branch.<\/p>\n The bank is also backing the next generation through its LifeSkills programme, which supports young people in building financial literacy and employability skills.<\/p>\n In Reading, the programme reaches 32 education institutions, with 89 per cent of schools actively engaged and more than 280 educators using its classroom resources.<\/p>\n Matt Rodda, MP for Reading, said: “I am delighted that Barclays is opening a new office in Reading that will employ 120 people and will support the bank’s work with local schools though their LifeSkills programme, which helps young people to build financial literacy and develop their employability skills.<\/p>\n “Barclays’ commitment to Reading further demonstrates that our town is becoming one of the UK’s most attractive locations for businesses.<\/p>\n “Reading is major hub for both national global companies due to our highly skilled workers, and excellent transport links.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Barclays has opened a new office in Reading.
