Picture: National Highways<\/p>\n<p>Traffic cameras show fire engines at the scene fighting flames from the green HGV.<\/p>\n<p>At its height there were four crews at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>A large pile of debris also appears to have been left in the fire\u2019s aftermath.<\/p>\n<p>The route remains closed, but trapped traffic is being released past the scene.<\/p>\n<p>National Highways reports more than an hour of delays for motorists.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"rthmb\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg xmlns=\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"0 0 996 627\" alt=\"There are long delays on the M25 in Westerham due to a lorry fire. Picture: National Highways<\/p>\n<p>The fire broke out just after 4pm but due to its severity the road was shut at 5.15pm.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson said on X: \u201cTraffic has stopped on the M25 in Kent anti-clockwise between J6 and J5 due to an HGV fire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFire crews are on scene dealing with the fire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are delays of more than 60 minutes on the approach, with six miles of congestion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no estimated time of when the carriageway will reopen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"rthmb\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg xmlns=\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"0 0 713 517\" alt=\"Emergency services remain at the scene on the M25 near Westerham due to a lorry fire. Picture: National Highways<\/p>\n<p>Surrounding routes including the diversion through Westerham are heavily congested.<\/p>\n<p>A fire service spokesperson said: \u201cKent Fire and Rescue Service is currently responding to a lorry fire on the M25 anti-clockwise, between junctions 5 and 6, near Clacket Lane Services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the height of the fire, four fire engines and a bulk water carrier attended, and crews wearing breathing apparatus have been working to unload the contents of the lorry and extinguish the fire using main jets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe incident is now being scaled down to one fire engine and a bulk water carrier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo injuries have been reported.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>More on this as we have it.
