(WO) \u2014 The public consultation for Adura’s Jackdaw gas project has concluded, marking another regulatory milestone as the UK government considers whether to approve the North Sea development.<\/p>\n
The consultation, administered by the Offshore Petroleum Regulator for Environment and Decommissioning (OPRED), closed on Aug. 10. OPRED will now review consultation responses before submitting the project for a ministerial decision.<\/p>\n
Jackdaw is one of two major North Sea developments being advanced by Adura, alongside the Rosebank oil and gas project west of Shetland. The company said the two developments represent a combined anticipated investment of \u00a310.8 billion and are expected to support UK energy security while generating economic activity and employment.<\/p>\n
“We are grateful to everyone who has taken the time to participate in the consultation,” said Adura CEO Neil McCulloch. “Jackdaw and Rosebank are advanced projects of national significance that can strengthen the UK’s energy security, sustain high-quality jobs and support businesses across the country.”<\/p>\n
McCulloch said the company looks forward to continuing to work with OPRED and the UK government as the regulator completes its review of the Jackdaw project.<\/p>\n
