Gross margin improved to 49.4% from 47.4%, underpinned by well-received new product launches, the establishment of new relationships with manufacturer partners and general pricing discipline.

“This sourcing improvement, together with ongoing cost control, has also meant the company achieved a materially improved underlying operating result,” states the group. “After adjusting for the impact of temporary store closures and one-off integration costs, the 2025 financial result was close to breakeven.”

In the first months of 2026, the Poltronesofà brand was launched across all 97 stores, completing the strategic plan initiated with the acquisition in early 2024. The company has also secured new locations for three further store openings in 2026 as it builds towards national coverage.

Its near-term focus is to build recognition of the Poltronesofà name in the UK, continue strengthening the customer proposition, grow sales volumes and deliver improved profitability. It says early trading following the rebrand has been encouraging, supporting confidence in the group’s expectation of a positive operating profit result for 2026 and a further significant improvement in profitability in 2027.

The company believes the completed refurbishment programme, enhanced customer proposition and strengthened brand platform provide a powerful foundation for the next phase of the UK business. It says it remains “focused on disciplined operational execution, customer experience improvements and continued new product development.

“The 2025 financial year has been one of investment and transformation. The business absorbed the disruption of a major store renewal programme while delivering positive order intake, improved gross margin and a stronger underlying financial performance. The transformation programme is now complete, and our focus is firmly on translating that investment into further sales growth, a stronger customer offer and continued profit progression.”

See September’s issue of Furniture News, coming soon, for an exclusive interview with Poltronesofà UK’s CEO, Mike Schmidt.

Poltronesofà UK (A Share & Sons, formerly ScS), says its Italian parent group’s vision and strategy have now…

[4
42594,41869,42593,28472,5,6
post-101260","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-uk","tag-date","tag-outlines","tag-poltronesofa","tag-progress","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom
["GET
