Federal prosecutors said controversial \u201cmanosphere\u201d influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate should remain in jail while their extradition proceeding plays out, citing the brothers\u2019 own social media posts as evidence they are flight risks and a danger to the community.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors argued in a Monday filing a Miami federal court should order the Tate brothers to remain in custody while they face an extradition proceeding, which could see them returned to the United Kingdom for prosecution on dozens of new charges<\/a> including rape, human trafficking and assault.<\/p>\n Prosecutors said the Tates are flight risks because they have said as much themselves in social media posts, citing plenty of examples of the brothers boasting about having multiple passports under pseudonyms.<\/p>\n The filing cites a video<\/a> in which Andrew Tate says he has \u201cseven passports\u201d and \u201c15 driver\u2019s licenses,\u201d adding if he is stopped by the police, he will \u201cpull out a license from some random country\u201d to hide his real identity.<\/p>\n Tate also mocked the British government\u2019s probe into himself and his brother on social media, calling<\/a> the United Kingdom \u201ca joke\u201d and \u201ctotal clowns\u201d in a post on X while also saying in a video he is \u201cnever getting extradited\u201d and taunted the U.K. government to \u201ccome get\u201d him.<\/p>\n Prosecutors cited numerous posts, made by Tate\u2019s former X account that is no longer available but were detailed in a letter to prosecutors by British authorities, in which he said multiple times he is \u201cabove the law.\u201d <\/p>\n crucial quote<\/p>\n \u201cThe Court need not look much further than the TATES\u2019 own social media posts to understand the great lengths they have gone to avoid detection by government,\u201d prosecutors said.<\/p>\n Prosecutors Say The Tates \u2018Exaggerate Their Conditions Of Confinement\u2019<\/p>\n Andrew Tate\u2019s X account has made daily posts complaining about the allegedly harsh conditions he is facing in the special housing unit, or solitary confinement, but prosecutors rebuffed many of his claims in Monday\u2019s filing. Tate most recently posted<\/a> on Aug. 10 that he gets \u201cno commissary, no phone calls, no yard time\u201d in the special housing unit, claiming he is facing the \u201cworst possible conditions the US gov provides to terrorists and psychopaths.\u201d But prosecutors said the Tates are actually provided \u201cadequate sleeping arrangements; food and access to water; the ability to order and obtain basic and extra supplies; recreation time; the opportunity to receive social visits; access to phone calls; and the opportunity to visit with their attorneys, often twice a day.\u201d Prosecutors included receipts of Andrew and Tristan Tate\u2019s commissary orders, dated Aug. 5, which show the brothers ordered more than a dozen items each, including Doritos, ramen, coffee, candy and deodorant. The filing also says the Tates are \u201cconsistently allowed out of their cells for hours (on almost a daily basis) for recreation time and to hold joint meetings with their attorneys.\u201d The Tates\u2019 attorney, Joe McBride, previously told the New York Post<\/a> that Andrew Tate is not posting himself while in jail, saying his legal team records his thoughts when they meet with him and post on his behalf. <\/p>\n What Charges Are The Tates Facing?<\/p>\n Prosecutors also hinged their argument that the Tates should remain jailed during their extradition proceedings on their charges, which accuse them of dozens of alleged violent offenses. The Tates, who have faced charges in the United Kingdom and Romania and investigations in the United States, faced heightened legal trouble starting last month when British prosecutors announced a slew of new charges<\/a>\u201432 for Andrew and six for Tristan\u2014adding to the 21 combined U.K. charges the brothers already face. Among Andrew Tate\u2019s new charges are seven counts of rape, three counts of human trafficking, three counts of assault and 19 charges related to child and extreme pornography, while Tristan Tate faces new charges of one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape and three trafficking counts. Romanian authorities have also accused the Tates of organized crime and human trafficking, including trafficking of minors, concerning 46 victims between 2014 and 2022, according to the U.S. prosecutors\u2019 Monday filing. <\/p>\n tangent<\/p>\n The White House previously declined to intervene<\/a> in the Tates\u2019 extradition process. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, responding to a reporter who asked in July whether the White House would get involved, said, \u201cNo. We\u2019ve already answered that question.\u201d Members of the Trump family have previously backed the Tates, including Donald Trump Jr., who called their Romanian charges \u201cabsolute insanity<\/a>\u201d in 2023, and Barron Trump, whom the New York Times<\/a> reported spoke with Andrew Tate in 2024 as President Donald Trump sought to win over younger male voters.
