West Midlands Fire Service are currently at a grassland fire<\/p>\n

Ley Hill Park, Northfield<\/p>\n

West Midlands Fire Service is warning locals to stay away as they tackle a grassland fire in Birmingham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Around 20 firefighters are currently at Ley Hill Park, in Northfield<\/a>, trying to bring the flames under control.<\/p>\n

They have asked the public to ‘stay away’ and National Express West Midlands have placed the number 18 service on diversion.<\/p>\n

WMFS said: “We have six crews in attendance at Ley Hill Park, Holloway, Northfield, where they have responded to a wildfire.<\/p>\n

“Please avoid the area, where possible.”<\/p>\n

NXWM said: “Friday 14th August 2026 Holloway Northfield.<\/p>\n

“18 Diverting in both directions via Bristol Road South, Shenley Lane and Long Nuke Road due to an incident.”<\/p>\n

The incident comes after a string of huge blazes swept through the city and Black Country.<\/p>\n

More than 100 firefighters, including 11 specialist teams, battled to contain the flames which swept rapidly through Stourbridge<\/a> Golf Course, in the Racecourse Lane area, at 1.30pm on Thursday (August 13).<\/p>\n
