Reliance Industries and Rolls-Royce plan to build a sovereign aero-engine ecosystem in India, including a proposed Aerospace Gas Turbine Complex for the AMCA programme. <\/p>\n
Reliance Industries and Rolls-Royce on Friday announced their strategic intent to partner on the design, development, manufacturing and delivery of an indigenous combat engine for India\u2019s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme.<\/p>\n
The companies will explore setting up a dedicated Aerospace Gas Turbine Complex in India as a centre for power and propulsion technology. The proposed facility is expected to support capabilities spanning design, development, manufacturing, testing, production and through-life support.<\/p>\n
Anant Ambani, Executive Director, Reliance Industries, said the partnership aims to create an indigenous aero-engine ecosystem. \u201cIndia\u2019s strategic autonomy requires sovereign capability in critical technologies,\u201d he said, adding that the companies seek to build an enduring national capability in advanced propulsion.<\/p>\n
Rolls-Royce CEO Tufan Erginbilgi\u00e7 called the move \u201ca major milestone towards building a robust, self-reliant aerospace ecosystem in the country”.<\/p>\n
The alliance is positioned as a step towards India\u2019s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision and could also open avenues for collaboration in defence, civil aerospace and next-generation power and propulsion systems.<\/p>\n
