The alert, sent on a rolling basis from around 7pm to millions, warns people not to light anything that could spark a fire, including barbecues,<\/a> campfires and fireworks. anything which could spark a wildfire, including barbecues and garden incinerators.<\/p>\n Surrey Fire & Rescue Service was among those experiencing a \u201chigh volume\u201d of 999 calls.<\/p>\n In a statement on X, the service said: \u201cPlease only call 999 if there is an emergency or a fire producing significant smoke.<\/p>\n \u201cWe understand residents may be concerned, but we are unable to respond to reports of neighbours having BBQs, bonfires or campfires in their gardens unless there is an emergency.\u201d<\/p>\n The service said it supported the Government\u2019s message and advised
