A wildfire has broken out on a mountain in Gwynedd. The North Wales Fire & Rescue Service has confirmed it is in attendance at a blaze on Rhiw Mountain, near Pwllheli.<\/p>\n

A fire service spokesperson said: “We are experiencing a high volume of calls relating to a fire on Rhiw mountain near Pwllheli<\/a>. Thank you for your concerns.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019d like to reassure the public that our firefighters are in attendance and are dealing with the incident.”<\/p>\n

It comes as wildfires sweep across south Wales, stretching resources across the country.<\/p>\n

Firefighters and resources from North Wales have been deploye to assist crews in mid and west Wales and in South Wales.<\/p>\n

The fire service has insisted its “operational availability across North Wales remains unaffected”.<\/p>\n

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service is presently dealing with seven wildfires. These are situated in Tredegar, Van Road, Garth, Blaenavon, Porth, Merthyr Tydfil, Penrhys and Bike Park Wales near Merthyr.<\/p>\n
