{"id":10525,"date":"2026-04-09T17:47:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T17:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/10525\/"},"modified":"2026-04-09T17:47:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T17:47:09","slug":"battle-of-britain-flight-among-latest-additions-to-riat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/10525\/","title":{"rendered":"Battle of Britain flight among latest additions to RIAT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">More aircraft, including a memorial flight for the Battle of Britain, will appear at this year\u2019s RIAT.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">With less than 100 days to go until the world\u2019s biggest international military air show returns to RAF Fairford in July, organisers have announced more additions to the lineup.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">On the eighth week of regular updates for RIAT, known as Take Off Thursday, the team in charge of running the event have announced the first Royal Air Force participants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As part of the \u2018Fighter Meet\u2019 theme, the RAF Typhoon Display Team will be welcomed back along with the Dakota, Spitfire and Hurricane in the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Read more<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Another addition to the \u2018Fighter Meet\u2019 theme comes courtesy of the Swedish Air Force as they celebrate their 100th anniversary, bringing their Saab Gripens back to RIAT, with the JAS-39C performing in the flying display and JAS-39D in the static line-up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A trio of civilian aircraft will join the static display: a Cessna 152 from Halton Aero Club, Cessna T-41A Mescalero from AKS Aviation and a Slingsby Nipper from Aerial Vocations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A spokesperson said: \u201cMore news to come next week as our discussions with Air Arms continue and our participation list grows.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Visit www.airtattoo.com for more information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"More aircraft, including a memorial flight for the Battle of Britain, will appear at this year\u2019s RIAT.
