The CDA-AMC recommendation is based on evidence from the MATINEE, METREX, and METREO Phase III trials. The MATINEE trial demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in the annualized rate of moderate\/severe exacerbations with\u00a0Nucala\u00a0compared to placebo in a COPD patient population with raised blood eosinophils (rate ratio [RR], of 0.79; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.66 to 0.94).1, 2\u00a0In a pre-defined secondary endpoint in MATINEE, the annualized rate of COPD exacerbations requiring emergency department visits and\/or hospitalization was numerically reduced in the\u00a0Nucala\u00a0group compared with placebo but did not meet statistical significance (rate ratio [RR] of 0.65; 95% CI: 0.43, 0.96).1<\/p>\n
