One resident, Carmel Bower, said: \u201cIt\u2019s not stopping. It\u2019s getting faster, the water, and we can\u2019t do anything.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe fire brigade came out and they left. They said it was down to United Utilities, and they just left us.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve had nothing. No one\u2019s been down here to help us or advise us. We\u2019ve just been left, and it\u2019s really bad.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s about five inches of water in the house and 10 in the garden.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen my mum opened the living room door, it was already flooded. It wasn\u2019t like there was a little bit of water to give us a warning that we might be flooded, it was just completely flooded.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was upstairs watching TV and my mum was in the living room with the dog. Then I heard this almighty scream from my mum: \u2018Oh my God, the hallway\u2019s flooded.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cI came running down and there was water everywhere. There was water outside and it was just coming down the street. It was absolutely horrendous.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur house is ruined. The kitchen\u2019s ruined. It\u2019s just everything downstairs, all the living room and all my mum\u2019s nice new furniture.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a chair in there that I don\u2019t know whether is going to be okay. My mum\u2019s had it in the family for 40 years.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t know how quickly it started because when my mum opened the living room door, it was already flooded.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe haven\u2019t seen anybody from United Utilities down here. No one\u2019s been down here to help us or advise us. We\u2019ve honestly just been left.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe police haven\u2019t knocked on our door. They drove past us when we waved them down.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was running around knocking on the neighbours\u2019 houses. I just wanted to make sure everyone was OK.<\/p>\n
\u201cApparently, the fireman said he\u2019s been doing it for 30 years and he\u2019d never seen anything like it.
