The family, which includes Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, will make the change this month, <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/prince-harry-meghan-markle-moving-back-uk-with-prince-archie-princess-lilibet-exclusive-12061632\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">People<\/a> reports, with the children due to start school there in September. The couple will keep their California home and a holiday place in Portugal while taking on a new, private residence in the UK that will be their primary residence, per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/video\/prince-harry-and-meghan-to-make-u-k-their-primary-residence-reports-say-268554309695\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NBC News<\/a>. The location of the UK home is being kept under wraps. King Charles III, Harry&#8217;s father, was informed of the plan, which was not discussed when he saw the couple and their children in England last month, on Sunday.&#13;\n                                    <\/p>\n<p class=\"storyParagraph\">&#13;<br \/>\n                                        The couple&#8217;s status as nonworking royals will not change; they&#8217;ll remain private individuals when in Britain, per the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/08\/19\/world\/europe\/prince-harry-meghan-return-uk.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New York Times<\/a>. Harry announced in January 2020 that he and his wife were gong to &#8220;step back&#8221; from their official duties. His honorary military titles and royal patronage appointments were removed the next year. Harry has waged a long-running fight over what he considers inadequate UK security arrangements for himself and his family.
