Remaining funds will go towards \u201cpackaging capabilities and additional zero processing capability\u201d, as well as \u201cin-market equipment such as taps and kegs\u201d and \u201cbrand growth initiatives\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In fiscal 2028, the drinks major is planning an unspecified cash injection into expanding non-alcoholic beer capacity at the\u00a0Little Connell\u00a0brewery in\u00a0County Kildare, Ireland. This \u201csecond phase\u201d of expansion at the site\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/drinks-intel.com\/beer\/diageo-cuts-ribbon-on-littleconnell-brewery-in-ireland\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">follows the opening of the brewery<\/a>\u00a0in April 2026, which increased capacity\u00a0for both Guinness Draft and Guinness Zero\u00a0by around 25%.<\/p>\n<p>CEO Dave Lewis described Guinness as one of two \u201cstrategic battlegrounds\u201d for Diageo, the other being RTDs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven Guinness\u2019s growth potential, its profitability and its very high ROIC (return on invested capital), we believe this is a highly attractive deployment of capital,\u201d Diageo\u2019s global category director for beer,\u00a0Gr\u00e1inne Wafer, told investors during\u00a0the company\u2019s \u2018capital markets day\u2019 today (6 August).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: pt-serif, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; margin-block: 0px 24px;\">Diageo highlighted North America as a market of focus for Guinness brand growth, as well as \u201cgrowing premium beer markets\u201d including India and Brazil.
