My Vitriol<\/a> are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album \u2018Finelines\u2019 with a headline show at London\u2019s Shepherd\u2019s Bush Empire. Find all the details below.<\/p>\n

The gig will be their biggest in over two decades, their last being their headline performance at London Astoria in 2005<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It marks 25 years since the release of their cult debut album \u2018Finelines\u2019, which was awarded three stars from NME\u00a0at the time<\/a>, and hailed by our readers as\u00a0an \u201calbum perfect from start to finish<\/a>\u201c.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ll take to the stage on Thursday December 10, with InMe<\/a> and Yourcodenameis:milo<\/a> joining as support acts.<\/p>\n

\u2018Finelines\u2019 has been credited as the first Nugaze album, with the term initially coined jokingly by frontman Som Wardner.<\/p>\n

A year after the album\u2019s release, My Vitriol went on hiatus in 2002, before briefly reuniting in 2005 for a show at the O2 Academy Islington. A recording of the gig was self-released as the 2006 live album \u2018Cast In Amber\u2019.<\/p>\n

Since then, they\u2019ve shared EPs \u2018A Pyrrhic Victory\u2019 and \u2018War of the Worlds\u2019 in 2007. In 2017 they returned again for a UK tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The support slot from Yourcodenameis:milo also signals a potential reunion for them. The Sunderland band went on hiatus in 2007 and announced a return for some charity concerts in 2020.<\/p>\n

Due to the pandemic, the gigs were postponed until April 2023. At the time, they hinted to\u00a0NME\u00a0that they would be keen to pen another full album<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got a whole folder on my hard drive of possible Milo songs from over the years,\u201d frontman Paul Mullen told us back then. \u201cIt\u2019s just full of riffs. Fuck it, why not? Let\u2019s get these shows out of the way and then we\u2019ll see. It just fills me with joy.\u201d<\/p>\n

On meeting their own high standards for new material, guitarist Justin Lockey said: \u201cWe\u2019ve got to do something in a way that would honour what we did before \u2013 which is just don\u2019t fucking care about anything else and make the heaviest thing we can.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got a studio and work in there all the time and now that everyone would be keen. It would have to better than the last thing we did because that\u2019s all we ever tried to do. I totally want to make another album.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThere\u2019s also an extensive amount of tracks that we worked on that we never put out.
