Britain\u2019s Got Talent<\/a> star Mike Newall was rushed to hospital after suffering a brain haemorrhage while at the beach with his family.<\/p>\n The comedian \u2013 who appeared on the ITV<\/a> talent show in 2020 \u2013 was spending the day with his two children and wife Nico when he became \u2018seriously ill\u2019.<\/p>\n Nico Newall recounted the frightening turn in an Instagram<\/a> post, in which she said things had changed \u2018in the blink of an eye\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n Posting a photo from moments before the emergency, Nico recalled how she drove Mike the 40 minutes to the nearest hospital, since it was quicker than an ambulance. \u2018All while my brave, funny man battled the most unbearable pain,\u2019 she wrote in the caption.<\/p>\n Mike was then sent to a specialist hospital in Liverpool, after a brain scan indicated he had suffered a haemorrhage.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tGet personalised updates on Britain’s Got Talent\t\t\t<\/p>\n Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro\u2019s TV Newsletter.<\/p>\n Sign up to our newsletter<\/a> and then select your show in the link we\u2019ll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you.<\/p>\n Nico continued: \u2018We were told to prepare for the worst, and so began the most agonising night of our lives.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t But they were told the bleeding on his brain had stopped, all while Mike remained \u2018so calm and positive\u2019, she wrote.<\/p>\n She continued: \u2018I\u2019m so relieved to say that things have improved. His pain is being managed, his stats are improving every day and he is doing amazingly well.<\/p>\n \u2018He still has a long road of recovery ahead, and there are risks the doctors are continuing to monitor round the clock over the next couple of weeks, so we\u2019re taking everything one day at a time.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u2018But we\u2019re feeling so much more hopeful today and just praying that he continues to make progress and makes a full recovery.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t Nico went on to thank Mike\u2019s followers for their support, writing: \u2018It has meant the absolute world to us.\u2019<\/p>\n \u2018Friends and family are everything. As for the comedy<\/a> community \u2013 I\u2019ve been in tears all day at your generosity. Testament to what a incredible [sic] guy Mike is.\u2019<\/p>\n Her post comes after promoter Peter Vincent launched a GoFundMe<\/a> to help support the Newell family during his recovery. The crowdfund effort has raised over \u00a312,000 at the time of publication, well on the way to a goal of \u00a316,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n Vincent wrote in the description: \u2018Let\u2019s get behind Mike, his family and show him how much the comedy community cares.
