A man has been seriously injured after an incident involving “bladed articles” in Truro this afternoon.<\/p>\n
Police have said two men in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.<\/p>\n
The disorder saw armed police being called and has left three people injured in total, police have said.<\/p>\n
A cordon is currently in place just off Calenick Street, near the Central Grill.<\/p>\n
In a statement at 4pm, Devon and Cornwall Police said: “One man suffered a potentially serious injury. Two other men sustained minor injuries.<\/p>\n
“Two men in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. They remain in police custody at this time.<\/p>\n
“Those involved are believed to be known to each other and there is no wider threat to the public.”<\/p>\n
Multiple witnesses have told CornwallLive there is a large emergency service presence in the city.<\/p>\n
One person said: “[Just off Victoria Square is] all cordoned off around Burger King, around 30 coppers, 12 police cars”.<\/p>\n
Another person said: “Something mega is going down in Truro”.<\/p>\n
Someone else told CornwallLive: “Truro massive police presence and armed responses. Ambulance and everything”.<\/p>\n
