Defence and aerospace firm Sigma Advanced Systems<\/a> has secured an additional long-term agreement worth nearly \u00a3125 million (about Rs 1,600 crore) with UK-based Rolls-Royce through its recently acquired UK subsidiary, Leicester-based Bromford Precision Solutions<\/a>, further expanding the Indian company\u2019s partnership with the aerospace major.<\/p>\n

The agreement builds on a previously secured long-term Rolls-Royce contract worth about \u00a3300 million (around Rs 3,800 crore), taking the combined value of the two agreements to nearly \u00a3425 million. The earlier deal was a seven-year agreement covering the manufacture and supply of high-precision aerospace components.

Under the latest agreement, Bromford will manufacture aero-engine rings, casings, lock plates and other critical engine structures across Sigma\u2019s manufacturing facilities in India and the UK.<\/p>\n

Sigma said the arrangement will create a dual-source manufacturing solution for Rolls-Royce and expand the range of components it can supply to the aerospace major.<\/p>\n

The deal follows Sigma\u2019s acquisition of 100% of UK-based Bromford Precision Solutions for about \u00a311.89 million (around Rs 153 crore) in July. Bromford, based in Leicestershire, manufactures high-precision aero-engine components, including rings, compressor casings, ducts, brackets and lock plates, and holds approvals from Rolls-Royce and Siemens.
Sigma said the acquisition had strengthened its position in the Rolls-Royce supply chain by adding complementary manufacturing capabilities and specialist engineering expertise.\u201cThis agreement is another strong marker of how far India’s precision engineering and defence-aerospace manufacturing base has come,\u201d Sigma CEO Sunil Kalidindi said.<\/p>\n

He said global aerospace original equipment manufacturers were increasingly looking to India not only for cost advantages but also for engineering capabilities, quality and scale.<\/p>\n

The company said Bromford\u2019s addition would also strengthen its UK manufacturing base and secure the long-term future of the Leicestershire facility, supporting skilled engineering and manufacturing jobs.<\/p>\n

Sigma operates aerospace and defence businesses in India and the UK, including Nasmyth and Bromford. The group manufactures precision components and systems for global aerospace and defence customers, with Bromford adding capabilities in complex aero-engine structures.<\/p>\n
