Hyundai has just rolled out the affordable Rolls-Royce. The Korean automaker has launched the Palisade High Roof in its home market. The trim brings more space and more luxury features, with a “starry sky” headliner being on the menu.<\/p>\n

Luxury is no longer something offered exclusively with sedans, since automakers have been offering anything from SUVs to minivans with high-end equipment so that the occupants are pampered as if they were in luxury lounges. Hyundai is doing it, too, with its Staria Lounge Limousine<\/a>, which is by no means a conventional limousine, but a minivan acting like one.<\/p>\n

Now, the luxury on board the Hyundai Palisade is going through the roof. Literally. Hyundai has just raised it by 9.4 inches (239 millimeters), which makes the SUV nearly 79 inches (2,005 millimeters) tall. It is not a move to allow occupants to stand on board the SUV but one that allows for a more airy space and makes room for the “starry sky,” a feature similar to what Rolls-Royce offers on board its Phantom, Ghost, and Cullinan.<\/p>\n

The Hyundai Palisade High Roof made its public debut at the Seoul Mobility Show last year as a pre-production prototype, but nobody had access inside, and the automaker showed no onboard messages. Now, the Asian automaker opens the doors to the ultra-spacious cabin.<\/p>\n

That is where it came up with a 21.4-inch screen, which deploys from the headliner to serve as rear-seat entertainment. New pop-up LED reading lights are also on the menu. Customers can check the box for the optional VIP Package 2, which brings a new center console with dual wireless charging pads for the passengers sitting in the back.<\/p>\n

Heated and cooled cup holders and an air-purifying system are also on board, along with a UV-C sterilization system, intended to kill bacteria and viruses. However, the star of the show is the “starry” headliner with the illuminated contour, providing the ambient lighting.<\/p>\n

Hyundai also equipped its High-Roof Palisade with 21-inch wheels with Pirelli tires, along with a standard predictive electronically controlled suspension. Customers can go for either a five-, a seven-, or an eight-seat layout.<\/p>\n

The extra features come for extra money, as they place the Palisade High Roof at the top of the lineup. Hyundai offers the model with a starting price of 72,440,000 won, which translates to $52,300 at the current exchange rate, which is roughly $20,000 more expensive than the previous range-topping variant, Black Ink.<\/p>\n

For the moment, the new Hyundai Palisade High Roof is a Korea-only product. The Palisade starts at $39,735 in the United States, but the Calligraphy Black Ink<\/a> sits at $57,680.
