A University of Nottingham student was reportedly ‘stabbed in the hand and back’ in a brave attempt to save his friend’s life.<\/p>\n
Finbar Sullivan, 21, was stabbed<\/a> at the popular north London lookout spot Primrose Hill after going to meet an undergraduate student friend on the evening of Tuesday, April 7.<\/p>\n He had just purchased a new video camera with money from his 21st birthday and had gone to test out the device and to listen to music when it understood that he was singled out<\/a> by a stranger and stabbed to death. No arrests have been made<\/a>.<\/p>\n Finbar’s father Chris Sullivan, 65, told the Daily Mail<\/a> that when it became clear that Finbar was in danger, his friend AJ tried to protect him and was wounded in the process.<\/p>\n “They went up there because it was a nice day. My son met his friend and he was also stabbed,” Chris said.<\/p>\n Finbar Sullivan, was fatally stabbed in an incident at Primrose Hill(Image: Metropolitan Police\/PA Wire)<\/p>\n Chris said AJ was stabbed in the back and in the hands as he was trying to protect Finbar.<\/p>\n AJ, who is thought to be studying at the University of Nottingham<\/a>, is now understood to be recovering after receiving medical attention, according to reports.<\/p>\n Asked why the two friends had been set upon, Chris said he did not know.<\/p>\n “My son was very morally stood up\u2026 he always stood up for other people,” Chris said.<\/p>\n “Maybe they were bullying somebody, maybe they tried to mug him\u2026 we just don\u2019t know.”<\/p>\n Videos of the violence on Primrose Hill, north London, showed groups of young men fighting, with one youth appearing to pull out a blade to threaten another young man.<\/p>\n One witness, who asked not to be named, said: “The park was just so busy, I had gone with my mate after work and it was literally the busiest I have ever seen it because of the weather<\/a> and it being Easter holidays.”<\/p>\n “Then suddenly we heard this commotion from behind us, and a big brawl kicked off \u2013 people were throwing punches, people were screaming at others to stop.”<\/p>\n The Met Police’s Superintendent Matt Cox said: “This is an utterly tragic incident and our thoughts remain with the man\u2019s family and loved ones.<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/0_436d0043-7678-497b-acc9-0ce46f0787a3.jpg\")
