A pop-up bank branch will close to customers next month – but they can still do their banking in person nearby.<\/p>\n

\u2018Barclays Local\u2019, which has been operating inside Stamford Town Hall in St Mary\u2019s Hill on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, will close on October 16.<\/p>\n

Customers will instead be able to visit a \u2018shared banking hub<\/a>\u2019, due to open soon at Stamford Arts Centre.<\/p>\n

Cash Access UK, which is behind the project, the Post Office, which will operate the hub, and South Kesteven District Council, which owns the arts centre, will not announce a specific opening date in case of last-minute changes.<\/p>\n

However, a Barclays spokesperson said: \u201cWe keep our local presence under regular review to respond to changes to where our customers work, live and shop and reflect how they are choosing to bank with us.<\/p>\n

\u201cA shared banking hub is due to open in early September at Stamford Arts Centre. Barclays Local will remain open until after the hub has opened, ensuring customers continue to have access to in-person support.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lloyds has announced it will leave Stamford on October 13.<\/p>\n
