His interim appointment came on the heels of the board&#8217;s decision to replace former Chair Albert Manifold, citing &#8220;serious concerns&#8221; regarding the latter&#8217;s governance standards, oversight and conduct.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I will lead the board&#8217;s evolution, ensuring we have the depth, experience and capabilities needed to support the company&#8217;s strategic priorities and long-term value creation,&#8221; Tyler said in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>First joining the British oil and gas company&#8217;s board as a nonexecutive director in April 2025, Tyler concurrently serves as chair of construction products company Grafton Group (GFTU.L) and as a senior independent director of mining company Anglo American (AAL.L).<\/p>\n<p>Alongside Tyler&#8217;s appointment, BP announced that Senior Independent Director Amanda Blanc will not stand for re-election at the 2027 annual general meeting and will depart from the board after a successor is found.
