{"id":115779,"date":"2026-09-02T09:43:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-02T09:43:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/115779\/"},"modified":"2026-09-02T09:43:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T09:43:09","slug":"rolls-royce-phantom-electrified-by-electrogenic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/115779\/","title":{"rendered":"Rolls-Royce Phantom electrified by Electrogenic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The electrification of a 1973 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI City of London official limousine has been undertaken by British electric vehicle (EV) technology company Electrogenic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The historic machine has been converted to clean and silent electric power, enabling it to efficiently carry out its official duties within the city of London and beyond for decades to come.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project was commissioned by Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley DBE \u2013 the 697th Lord Mayor of the City of London \u2013 and forms part of the City of London Corporation\u2019s wider drive to achieve net zero carbon emissions for its own operations by 2027.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Oxford-based EV powertrain specialist was entrusted with sympathetically electrifying the Rolls-Royce, for a zero-emissions future.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Electrogenic installed a 120kW electric motor producing 310Nm of torque in place of the original powertrain. This is fed by a 62kWh battery pack located under the bonnet and driving through a single-speed direct-drive transmission.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 62kWh battery pack gives a real-world range of 100\u2013120 miles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Steve Drummond, CEO, Electrogenic, said:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur team has sympathetically preserved everything that made the original car so special, while giving it a clean, modern powertrain perfectly suited to carrying out ceremonial duties in a modern city.
