A Welsh school choir wowed the Britain’s Got Talent judges – just after finding out they’d be appearing on the show at all. The pupils of Ysgol Glantaf in Cardiff<\/a> sang Never Enough from the Greatest Showman and after an incredible performance received yeses from all four judges – sending them through to the semi final.<\/p>\n The boys choir, made up of pupils all between 11 and 18, were the final performer on tonight’s episode of the ITV<\/a> show. They were shown nervously peeking from behind the curtains spotting the judges before their performance.<\/p>\n Simon then said he had “little surprise” for his fellow judges as he explained that the choirmaster, Lloyd Macey, was a former X Factor contestant himself and that he had met up with him, and the choir, earlier<\/a>.<\/p>\n The judge surprised the choir of Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf, when they believed they were performing at the unveiling of a statue of someone influential in music. What they didn’t know is that it wasn’t a real statue at all, in fact it was the reality star himself.<\/p>\n Everyone then got into position for the big reveal, where the boys counted down to the unveiling of “the statue”.<\/p>\n Simon then surprised the boys, which lead them to all jump around in excitement. One of the students said: “You’re much better than a statue.”<\/p>\n Simon later added: “Your choirmaster has tricked you because you will be performing on Britain’s Got Talent later.<\/p>\n “It’s gonna be good.”<\/p>\n When they appeared on the stage, Simon introduced Lloyd to his fellow judges, explaining had been on X Factor in 2017. He was part of the boys category and was mentored by Louis Walsh before being eliminated in the semi final.<\/p>\n Lloyd then spoke and said he had nominated the boys to boost their confidence.<\/p>\n The had endured a six hour coach journey and were watched on by the headteacher Matthew Evans When asked how they’d spend the money, Lloyd smiled and replied, he’d “have to ask him”.<\/p>\n The head was seen pumping the air as the choir performed at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens and the audience applauded and then, along with all four judges, gave a standing ovation at the end. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter<\/a><\/p>\n Host Dec joined from the stage too to applaud the boys.<\/p>\n Simon, shaking hands with Lloyd, told him: “That was great”. “Wow,” said Simon.<\/p>\n KSI initially said he would mark the boys “six seven” leading to laughter as they mimicked the hand gesture associated with the schoolyard slang move.<\/p>\n “Obviously that was amazing. You fully believed in yourself, trusted in yourself. So be proud. Be very, very proud.”<\/p>\n Amanda said they had done “Wales proud”. “I love that song. The arrangement, the harmonising. I thought you did Wales proud,” she told the 70-strong choir.<\/p>\n Aleesha said she enjoyed watching choirmaster Lloyd “as much as I did the choir”. “I think a great choir needs a strong leader and Lloyd, you are a fantastic leader. I enjoyed watching you just as much as I did the choir,” she told him.<\/p>\n Then Simon said he felt “quite emotional”. “I actually got quite emotional, this was just brilliant. This is what a great choir is all about. Having fun. Great song choices. Great leader,” he said.<\/p>\n “You are going back to Wales with four gigantic yeses,” Simon told the boys, clearly excited.
