That&#8217;s a scary place to be. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It will be a matter of time before people in this country start to go out and protest,&#8221; they told The Telegraph.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Farmers are the last people who want to go out and protest. You have to remember this is a very busy time of the year for us. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But with the inheritance tax protests, you&#8217;ve got the groups that have been set up. The infrastructure is there to mobilise.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Discussions have been had, and there will be a few people coming together at the beginning of next week to see what can be done.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Iran war &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gbnews.com\/news\/world\/us-iran-peace-talks-jd-vance-no-deal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">which appeared not to have moved closer to peace by Sunday morning<\/a> &#8211; and while average prices have not yet reached this threshold, the most expensive forecourts are charging up to \u00a31.99 for petrol and even more for diesel.<\/p>\n<p>Frustration among farmers and hauliers over diesel availability and prices has grown significantly in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Some red diesel suppliers have started rationing deliveries to farmers, with prices now roughly double their pre-war levels.<\/p>\n<p>Red diesel is chemically identical to the normal fuel, but is dyed and taxed at a lower rate so it can be ring-fenced for certain applications like farm machinery.<\/p>\n<p>Ministers were preparing on Friday for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gbnews.com\/politics\/labour-holds-talks-protests-cost-of-living-iran-war\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">mass protests across Britain<\/a> over the cost-of-living crisis triggered by the Iran war.<\/p>\n<p>                FUEL COST CHAOS &#8211; with mass rallies in Dublin and blockades across the country breaking out over fuel prices<\/p>\n<p> | <\/p>\n<p>PA<\/p>\n<p>Mainland Britain has not yet seen demonstrations, but Northern Ireland is set to become the first part of the UK to protest, with Tuesday already circled as a &#8220;day of action&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The Police Service of Northern Ireland said it was &#8220;maintaining an ongoing assessment&#8221; over the prospect of fuel protests next week.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, 54 UK filling stations were selling diesel above \u00a32 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>The highest price recorded was \u00a32.28 at Mackenzie Stores on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>Crossapol Filling Station on the Isle of Tiree charged \u00a32.25 per litre, while Cuxton Auto Services in Kent reached \u00a32.18.<\/p>\n<p>The largest price increase since the war began was at Grade Filling Station in Redcar, North Yorkshire, where diesel rose 74p to \u00a31.80 since February 27.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Massive fuel protests are now being planned across Britain as diesel prices surge beyond \u00a32 per litre.
