North Yorkshire village in &#8216;Golden Triangle&#8217; among the poshest in Britain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Did you know this village, set within North Yorkshire\u2019s \u2018Golden Triangle\u2019, has just been named the poshest in the county?<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Follifoot, said to be a \u201ctranquil, picturesque\u201d spot situated near Harrogate, was also highlighted among the finest villages in Britain by The Telegraph.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">With a current average house price of \u00a3810,432, the village, which is surrounded by green, rolling countryside, might sound familiar thanks to the 1970s ITV children&#8217;s show Follyfoot, which starred James Bond\u2019s Desmond Llewellyn.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The publisher shared about its 2026 village guide: \u201cLiving in a village is the dream for many, whether retiring, downsizing or looking for a healthy, happy place to bring up children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cUsing exclusive research provided by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.savills.co.uk\/?ref=ed_direct\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Savills;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;context_link&quot;,&quot;yModuleName&quot;:&quot;content-canvas&quot;,&quot;yLinkText&quot;:&quot;Savills&quot;}\" class=\"link \">Savills<\/a>, Telegraph Money can reveal the poshest villages in Britain, broken down by county.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The list was curated by using a combination of the highest house prices, a lively community, a thriving village hall, great pubs, local shops and sporting facilities, which are all aspects that \u201cmake a great village\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Telegraph added: \u201cWe also took into account other factors, such as whether the location sits in a bucolic setting, has an interesting heritage, and whether it ticks the boxes of the classic village, with a green, duck pond and perhaps thatched cottages.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Why is this North Yorkshire village among the UK\u2019s poshest?<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">From the Michelin-recognised Rudding Park hotel and spa nearby, to its active Women\u2019s Institute chapter, there is a lot that makes Follifoot stand out amongst the crowd when it comes to some of the country\u2019s top villages.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/money\/property\/poshest-village-how-expensive-buy-county-britain\/?ref=ed_direct\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:The Telegraph;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;context_link&quot;,&quot;yModuleName&quot;:&quot;content-canvas&quot;,&quot;yLinkText&quot;:&quot;The Telegraph&quot;}\" class=\"link \">The Telegraph<\/a> shared: \u201cPrettily named Follifoot \u2013 older readers may remember the 1970s TV series about North Yorkshire horse sanctuary, \u2018Follyfoot\u2019 \u2013 is a stone-built spot in North Yorkshire\u2019s \u2018Golden Triangle\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cFive miles south of the smart spa town of Harrogate, it has a Church of England primary school, a shop\/post office and a Victorian church, plus a pub, The Harewood Arms, named after the nearby estate of the 8th Earl, David Lascelles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThe village hall is undergoing refurbishment, so the ever-enterprising local WI are holding their meetings at Rudding Park, a nearby five-star hotel and spa with a Michelin-star restaurant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Follifoot also offers residents and visitors the chance to get involved in safari suppers, school fetes, indoor bowls, yoga, coffee and cake club, as well as beer festivals and much more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Additionally, Andrew Beadnall, from estate agency Beadnall Copley, told The Telegraph: \u201cIt\u2019s not been spoilt at all.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8216;Real ale and pub grub&#8217;
