\n Jeremie Maillard is aiming to break a second world record at London Marathon next weekend.<\/p>\n

\n A Harrogate man is set for another whacky world marathon attempt when he takes on the London Marathon next weekend.\n <\/p>\n

Jeremie Maillard will be on the start line on Sunday 26th April as he attempts to become the fastest person to complete a marathon dressed as a monarch, after his costume was officially approved.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The father-of-three, who will be running his sixth London Marathon, is already a world record holder.<\/p>\n

Jeremie\u00a0was named the fastest male to be dressed as a mythical creature to complete the 26.2-mile race in 2022, recording a time of three hours and 26 minutes dressed as a unicorn.<\/p>\n

He’ll also need to beat that time, three hours and 26 minutes, to set a new world record for the fastest monarch.<\/p>\n

Jeremie has long supported Alzheimer\u2019s Research UK in memory of his father, who died from Alzheimer\u2019s disease in 2017.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s effort also reflects a more recent personal development, following his mother\u2019s diagnosis with advanced digestive system cancer.<\/p>\n

Any money he raises will be shared equally between Alzheimer\u2019s Research UK and Yorkshire Cancer Research.<\/p>\n

Speaking about his previous challenge, Jeremie told Your Harrogate:<\/p>\n

“It’s a claim to fame! People keep reminding me of the unicorn which is amazing.<\/p>\n

“Running with the mask for the entire race was hard work but overall it was such a good atmosphere and it was very enjoyable.”<\/p>\n

Ahead of this year’s marathon, he said:<\/p>\n

“King George is the outfit I\u2019ve sourced with the medieval theme, and a crown as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI like running but I also like to raise money and awareness for charities too, and these causes are close to my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the marathon, Jeremie is also planning a second endurance challenge later in the year – a 100km race in France – as part of the same campaign.<\/p>\n
