A video of Cristian Romero walking down London streets has emerged after the severity of the Tottenham captain\u2019s knee injury was confirmed on Monday.<\/p>\n

There were fears that Romero had suffered significant ligament damage<\/a> as the centre-back was in tears as he came off in the second half of Tottenham\u2019s 1-0 loss at Sunderland after his knee collided with the side of Antonin Kinsky\u2019s<\/a> face.<\/p>\n

Roberto De Zerbi admitted after the game that Tottenham needed Romero amidst their relegation battle,<\/a> but the Italian got some bad news regarding the Argentine on Monday.<\/p>\n

The scan\u2019s results revealed that the Spurs captain was set to spend five to eight weeks on the sidelines,<\/a> which means that his season could now be over.<\/p>\n

Can Spurs stay up without Romero?<\/p>\n

Truth be told, like most players in the Tottenham squad, Romero has been a long way off his best for much of the season.<\/p>\n

Kevin Danso has delivered whenever he has been called upon by Spurs<\/a> this term, which is why there is an argument to be made that the Lilywhites are not significantly weakened by their captain\u2019s injury.<\/p>\n

However, Romero\u2019s leadership will certainly be missed by Tottenham during a period of crisis, while the centre-back\u2019s ability to play out from the back makes him a better fit for De Zerbi\u2019s<\/a> system than Danso<\/a>.<\/p>\n
