An Altrincham bar<\/a> deemed a \u2018significant crime generator\u2019 by council bosses \u2013 with the most violent incidents of any licensed premises in Trafford<\/a> \u2013 will not reopen.<\/p>\n

\u2018Severe violence\u2019 has spilled out of Traders Tiki Bar, on Goose Green, on multiple occasions this year<\/a>, the town hall said.<\/p>\n

On February 14, a 17-year-old \u2018gang member\u2019 punched and kicked a man to the floor inside, Trafford council<\/a> added.<\/p>\n

The violence<\/a> continued outside after he was kicked out, but staff did nothing to stop it, town hall officers said. \u2018Panicked\u2019 customers were seen \u2018fleeing\u2019, they added.<\/p>\n

The next night, customers who had been thrown out of the bar turned street furniture into \u2018weapons\u2019; made \u2018numerous attempts\u2019 to assault door staff; and punching the general manager in the face, the council<\/a> continued.<\/p>\n

The \u2018group of bloodied and shirtless men\u2019 continued \u2018attacking, throwing objects and punches towards the premises\u2019, council documents added.<\/p>\n

Manchester Magistrates\u2019 Court<\/a> issued a closure order last month, which has now expired.<\/p>\n

The court heard the bar had the highest number of violent incidents of any licensed premises in the borough of Trafford, despite only being open three days a week.<\/p>\n

Trafford council said it had evidence of \u2018drug-related activity\u2019 outside.<\/p>\n

Those responsible for the running of Tiki Bar<\/a> were called to a town hall hearing last week. The bar faced having its licence revoked, but the meeting was cancelled.<\/p>\n

A spokeswoman for the council told the Local Democracy Reporting Service the hearing did not go ahead as the premises licence had been surrendered.<\/p>\n

A licence is needed for a venue to sell alcohol; serve hot food after 11pm; and for live music and other forms of live entertainment.<\/p>\n

The spokeswoman added: \u201cThe surrender means the premises cannot operate as a licensed venue. The hearing will not be rescheduled. Any future operation would require a new premises licence application, which would be subject to routine processes.\u201d<\/p>\n
