Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a woman was found dead in a home.<\/p>\n

Police were called to Khartoum Square in Whitfield, near Dover, yesterday shortly before 3.30pm to a woman being treated by paramedics.<\/p>\n

Patrols attended the scene where the alleged victim, who was in her 60s, was confirmed deceased. Police say her next of kin have been informed.<\/p>\n

Today, the force stated a 32-year-old local man, who was known to the woman, was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a cordon remains at the property while inquiries into the incident are underway.<\/p>\n

Paying tribute to the suspected victim, a neighbour said: \u201cShe was a very lovely, beautiful, Christian woman.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe kept herself to herself. I used to see her walk down all the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was quiet. She was a peaceful woman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another resident described the area as \u201cpretty chilled\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have never had drama and as long as you keep to yourself you\u2019re fine,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have lived here 20-odd years, There were forensics, police and critical care here yesterday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re neighbours with her but we didn\u2019t chat.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were polite to them and used to say, \u2018Hi are you alright?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Another resident described the street as a \u201clovely, quiet area\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou saw the woman every now and again but I haven\u2019t seen her for a while,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe said hello and waved but that was about it. Everyone looks out for everyone here.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy kids know they can knock on anyone\u2019s door and someone will help them.\u201d<\/p>\n
