A man in his 50s has been charged to court after Class A drugs with an estimated street value of over \u00a31.4 million were seized during a house search in Co Down<\/a> today.<\/p>\n Officers from the PSNI<\/a>‘s Organised Crime Branch, supported by the Tactical Support team, conducted a search of a house in the Mourne Drive area of Warrenpoint this morning, Thursday, April 16.<\/p>\n This large quantity of suspected cocaine was seized alongside a sum of cash and electronic items. A man, aged 53, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession to Class A controlled drugs with intent to supply and has since been charged to court.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Man hospitalised with serious facial injuries following suspected assault in Antrim<\/a>READ MORE: Man dies in hospital following Shankill Road collision between car and pedestrian<\/a><\/p>\n He will appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning, April 17, on a number of charges including possession of class A controlled drugs with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of a class A controlled drug.<\/p>\n As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.<\/p>\n A police spokesperson said: \u201cThis significant seizure is the result of ongoing investigations relating to the supply of controlled drugs in the Co Down area.
