The devastated family of a man found dead in a Warwickshire<\/a> river have described him as ‘amazing’. They say that Adam Lucas was a loved father, grandfather, brother and uncle.<\/p>\n

He was found dead in the river in Leamington’s Victoria Park on Wednesday morning (April 15).<\/p>\n

His family have issued a tribute to him and explained that they are ‘trying to navigate’ their loss.<\/p>\n

The family statement reads: “We\u2019re all shocked and heartbroken to hear the sad news of the sudden passing of our beloved Adam.”He was an amazing and loved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin. We kindly ask that he is kept in your thoughts and prayers while we try to navigate this as a family.”<\/p>\n

Warwickshire Police<\/a> last night (April 16) confirmed that it had launched a murder investigation into his death.<\/a><\/p>\n

it came after a post mortem examination revealed that the man died as a ‘result of injuries consistent with an assault’.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Detective Inspector Gareth Unett said: \u201cI understand this will be concerning for the local community, but I\u2019d like to reassure them we have a team of detectives working to establish the full circumstances that led to the man\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re carrying out a number of enquiries including checking CCTV and will have officers in and around the park providing reassurance. If you have questions, please speak to them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d ask anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area from late Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning to come forward and share what they know.<\/p>\n

\u201cFinally, I\u2019d ask people not to speculate online as this can cause unnecessary distress to the family and may impact our investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n
