{"id":17183,"date":"2026-04-19T14:08:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-19T14:08:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/17183\/"},"modified":"2026-04-19T14:08:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-19T14:08:13","slug":"all-the-recent-arson-attacks-in-london-as-counter-terror-police-probe-spate-of-incidents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/17183\/","title":{"rendered":"All the recent arson attacks in London as counter-terror police probe spate of incidents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/newsletter_we_final_embed_desktop.png\" alt=\"WEST END FINAL\" width=\"158px\" height=\"158px\" class=\"sc-eEbqID ecGikU\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Counter-terror police are leading probes into recent multiple <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/arson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">arson<\/a> and attempted arson attacks in north-west <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/london\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">London<\/a> .  <\/p>\n<p>The deputy commissioner of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/metropolitan-police\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Metropolitan Police<\/a> Matt Jukes said premises \u201clinked to Britain\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/jewish\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jewish<\/a> community and to those who oppose the Iranian regime have been targeted\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Counter-terror police are looking into whether the series of arson attacks have been carried out by Iranian proxies, Vicki Evans, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, said on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Sir Keir Starmer said he was \u201cappalled\u201d by the spate of  \u201cantisemitic\u201d attacks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is abhorrent and it will not be tolerated. Attacks on our Jewish community are attacks on Britain\u201d, the Prime Minister said following the latest attack in which the Kenton United Synagogue, Harrow,  was targeted.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cfirebombing\u201d was one of a string of attacks in recent weeks that has seen  the president of The United Synagogue declare \u201can epidemic of anti-Jewish hate\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the incidents that have taken place recently:<\/p>\n<p>Attack on Hatzola ambulances <\/p>\n<p>The vehicles, operated by charity Hatzola, each worth \u00a3250,000 were destroyed.<\/p>\n<p>Four people have been charged in connection with the alleged attack.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Golders-Green-incident-fes6euna.jpeg\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" alt=\"Golders Green incident\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"sc-eqUAAy kRUyJB\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Jamie Lashmar\/PA Wire<\/p>\n<p>Petrol bombs thrown at synagogue <\/p>\n<p>Neither bottle ignited and no damage was reported. There were no injuries.<\/p>\n<p>A man, 46, and woman, 47, were arrested on suspicion of arson endangering life. (Photo by Leon Neal\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>Getty<\/p>\n<p>Attack on former charity premises<\/p>\n<p>Police and the London <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/fire\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fire<\/a> Brigade were called at 10:31pm on April 17 after a man set three bottles \u201ccontaining fluid\u201d alight outside a row of shops.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect set fire to the items in a plastic bag after but fled the scene after they failed to fully ignite.  <\/p>\n<p>Minor damage was caused to the building that was previously used by educational charity Jewish Futures and no injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/2271357210.jpg\" width=\"6720\" height=\"4480\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"sc-eqUAAy kRUyJB\"\/><\/p>\n<p>HENDON, ENGLAND &#8211; APRIL 18: Police forensic officers investigate the scene of an attempted arson attack on April 18, 2026 in the Hendon area of London, England. Picture date: Sunday April 19, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>PA<\/p>\n<p>Attack on Persian media company<\/p>\n<p>Three people, including a 16-year-old boy, have appeared in court charged in connection with an attempted firebombing on a Persian media company in north-west London.<\/p>\n<p>Oisin McGuinness, 21, Nathan Dunn, 19, and a 16-year-old boy appeared side by side in the dock at London&#8217;s Westminster Magistrates&#8217; Court on Friday charged with arson with intent to endanger life.<\/p>\n<p>The Metropolitan Police said officers on patrol were told at about 8.30pm on April 15 that an &#8220;ignited container&#8221; had been thrown towards the site in Wembley, landing in a car park where the fire immediately went out.<\/p>\n<p>The offices of Volant Media, the parent company of Persian news channel Iran International, known for its critical coverage of Iran\u2019s government., were targeted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Counter-terror police are leading probes into recent multiple arson and attempted arson attacks in north-west London .
