A married teacher has been banned from classrooms after sending a pupil flirty late-night messages.<\/p>\n
James Samson, 46, asked for a teenage girl\u2019s personal phone<\/a> number before sending \u2018weird\u2019 texts and emails.<\/p>\n The dad-of-two was a form tutor and head of geography at \u00a346,000-a-year boarding school<\/a> Luckley House in Berkshire<\/a>.<\/p>\n He sent messages including: \u2018Shame I couldn\u2019t get you back into my cupboard\u2026 To find a folder (with a winky face)\u2019<\/p>\n Another said: \u2018I was just looking at you and not listening to (Person X) anyway.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tSign up for all of the latest stories\t\t\t<\/p>\n Start your day informed with Metro’s News Updates<\/a> newsletter or get Breaking News<\/a> alerts the moment it happens. <\/p>\n He also told her: \u2018Hey you! You know you are more than welcome to come and chill in my room for revision whenever.\u2019<\/p>\n He added: \u2018Ah that\u2019s\u00a0nice, I have to say that I always find it far more enjoyable when you\u2019re there too! Not sure why!\u2019<\/p>\n These messages spanned WhatsApp<\/a>, email and texts between February 2023 and May 2024, a disciplinary panel heard.<\/p>\n \t\t They were even sent late at night and even on Christmas<\/a> Day and New Year\u2019s Eve<\/a>.<\/p>\n The exchanges ran to more than 40 pages, the panel heard.<\/p>\n The pupil said the messages left her \u2018uncomfortable\u2019 and described them as \u2018weird\u2019 and \u2018un-teacher-like\u2019.<\/p>\n She added: \u2018It seemed there was something behind it but I wasn\u2019t clear what.\u2019<\/p>\n Concerns were raised in June 2024 and the school launched an investigation, with Samson being sacked the following month.<\/p>\n One witness described his behaviour as showing the \u2018early signs of grooming\u2019.<\/p>\n The disciplinary panel ruled Samson\u2019s conduct was \u2018highly inappropriate\u2019 and \u2018significantly short\u2019 of expectations.<\/p>\n Samson admitted sending the messages but denied they were sexually motivated.<\/p>\n The teacher has now been banned from the profession in England<\/a> and cannot aply to return until April 2028.<\/p>\n Since leaving his job he now works as a \u2018Professional Tree Inspector\u2019.<\/p>\n Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@metro.co.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n For more stories like this, check our news page<\/a>.<\/p>\n Arrow Arrow Arrow![\"Luckley](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/SEI_293766407-5d3d.jpg\")
