The UK\u2019s Eurovision<\/a> Song Contest entry, Look Mum No Computer<\/a>, has admitted to “missing the concept of sleep” in the intense run-up to the competition, following the recent birth of his son<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sam Battle, the YouTube star behind the stage name, also revealed he has personally built most of his staging for his performance in Vienna, Austria, where he will sing his track “Eins, Zwei, Drei”.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the Press Association at the London Eurovision Party at Outernet in Tottenham Court Road, Battle candidly shared his current challenges. He said: “Everything happens at once, which is kind of mad and it\u2019s a lot of work. I mean, my son is seven days old now, and I\u2019ve got to be honest, I\u2019ve missed the concept of sleep.”<\/p>\n

Speaking about the staging he had built, the Lincolnshire-born musician said he had not been allowed to do it all as he did not think the BBC <\/a>\u201ctrusted my welding\u201d, but added that he had made all of the electronics and panels.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cSo it\u2019s all figured out now, finished building the props about two hours before we had to go to the hospital with my wife.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I built props, and it\u2019s already in Vienna<\/a> now. I mean, it\u2019s on a big lorry to Vienna, whether it\u2019s got there already, I\u2019m yet to find out.\u201d<\/p>\n

The artist, who has become known for his videos about making and playing unusual electronic music equipment, said he would be doing Eurovision \u201cmy own way and hoping for the best\u201d.<\/p>\n

Battle continued: \u201cI didn\u2019t know what to expect one bit to be honest, so it\u2019s a surprise every day.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, today I\u2019ve turned up, I\u2019ve just woke up and drove here, and now we\u2019re all talking, and there\u2019s more people than I ever imagined, so I\u2019m imagining it\u2019s probably going to be even more so in Vienna.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since beginning his YouTube career in 2013, the singer has since amassed more than 85 million views and 1.4 million combined subscribers and followers across his various social accounts.<\/p>\n

He has made an organ out of Furby toys, fused a synthesiser with a Raleigh Chopper bicycle and made a triple oscillator synthesiser out of Nintendo Game Boy video games consoles.<\/p>\n

A video for his Eurovision song sees Look Mum No Computer in a messy office setting wearing a suit, before ditching his workplace for a giant electronic soundboard as he sings about \u201ccoming back to life\u201d.<\/p>\n

The 70th edition of the Eurovision final will take place at Vienna\u2019s Wiener Stadthalle, after Austrian entry JJ won in 2025 with his song Wasted Love, on Saturday May 16.<\/p>\n
