Armed police descended on a holiday park in Cornwall after a woman was allegedly attacked by a man armed with a knife.<\/p>\n

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police were called to a report of an assault at a holiday park near the seaside town of Looe shortly before 12.30pm on Friday (April 17).<\/p>\n

The woman was taken to hospital with knife wounds and discharged later that day after receiving treatment, Cornwall Live<\/a> reports. Following a manhunt at the holiday park and in the Southway area of Plymouth, a 43-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on Saturday (April 18) on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.<\/p>\n

He has since been released on bail while police make further enquiries into the incident.<\/p>\n

Devon and Cornwall Police<\/a> said: “Officers were called to a report of an assault at a holiday park near Looe at around 12.25pm on Friday 17 April. It was reported that a woman had sustained knife wounds. She was treated in hospital and was discharged later that day.<\/p>\n

“The suspect left the scene and was believed to possibly have a weapon. Officers, including armed officers, carried out enquiries in the area and in the Southway area of Plymouth to locate the suspect.<\/p>\n

“Following these enquiries, a 43-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on Saturday 18 April, on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
