{"id":1788,"date":"2026-03-31T08:10:32","date_gmt":"2026-03-31T08:10:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/1788\/"},"modified":"2026-03-31T08:10:32","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T08:10:32","slug":"major-london-train-station-to-close-over-easter-in-huge-disruption-to-passengers-news-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/1788\/","title":{"rendered":"Major London train station to close over Easter in huge disruption to passengers | News UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/GettyImages-2263425382-e891.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-27681586\" alt=\"People looking at the departure travel information board at London Euston station.\" decoding=\"sync\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tEuston station is a key station in London as it connects Scotland, parts of the North and the Midlands to London (Credits: In Pictures via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>One of <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/london\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">London<\/a>\u2019s busiest railway stations is set to close for almost a week during the <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/easter\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Easter<\/a> break.<\/p>\n<p>If you need to catch a train from Euston over Easter, brace for a longer journey and queueing up for a replacement bus. <\/p>\n<p><a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/02\/27\/eustons-controversial-advertising-board-making-a-comeback-27134355\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The station<\/a>, known for its signature \u2018Euston rush\u2019 when passengers dash to the platforms, will shut for six days in April so that <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/network-rail\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Network Rail<\/a> can carry out engineering works.<\/p>\n<p>Euston will be closed from Good Friday, April 3, until Wednesday, April 8, meaning there are no Avanti West Coast or London Northwestern Railway trains. <\/p>\n<p>You can view all Easter disruptions by scrolling down and clicking on the map below. <\/p>\n<p>All trains between Euston, <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/scotland\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Scotland<\/a>, the North West of <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/england\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England<\/a> and <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/west-midlands\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">West Midlands<\/a> will terminate at Milton Keynes Central instead, National Rail warned. <\/p>\n<p>There will be a rail replacement bus taking passengers between <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/milton-keynes\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Milton Keynes<\/a> and Euston during the closure. <\/p>\n<p>Chris Liptrot, Avanti\u2019s operations director, said: \u2018While Network Rail carry out this essential work, we\u2019ll be operating an amended timetable with journeys to and from London Euston involving changes or rail replacement buses. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018We strongly advise customers making journeys to or from London Euston between 3 and 8 April to plan ahead and check the National Rail website before travelling.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/GettyImages-2267794373-e31d.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-27681587\" alt=\"Euston station National Rail sign at the London station, and Euston Underground station sign.\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tEuston\u2019s closure will affect the National Rail services and some Overground line trains through the station (Picture: In Pictures via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>If you have to travel to an airport for an Easter getaway, some of the routes to London airports have slight changes. <\/p>\n<p><a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/heathrow-airport\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Heathrow Airport<\/a> trains will have a late start on Sunday. On the Stansted route, the tracks will be closed between Stratford and Tottenham Hale over Easter until 6pm every day, so you will have to travel via London Liverpool Street. <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tLatest during Easter <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a reduced service will run between Waterloo and Clapham Junction stations due to railway works. <\/p>\n<p>This will affect the route between Good Friday and Monday, April 6, National Rail said, and passengers will have to change trains at Clapham Junction. <\/p>\n<p>Queenstown Road Battersea station will also shut over the Easter weekend. <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tList of Easter Tube and other TfL closures \t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>It will be business as usual on most <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/london-underground\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tube<\/a> lines, but some routes will be closed over Easter for maintenance works.<\/p>\n<p>Here are closures taking place on the TfL network in early April. <\/p>\n<p>London Underground<\/p>\n<p>Hammersmith &amp; City \u2013 Closed between Friday, April 3 and Monday April 6 <\/p>\n<p>Bakerloo line \u2013 Closed from Stonebridge Park to Harrow &amp; Wealdstone from April 3-April 6, and closed from Queen\u2019s Park to Harrow &amp; Wealdstone between Saturday, April 4 \u2013 Sunday, April 5<\/p>\n<p>District line \u2013 No service from Whitechapel to Upminster and from Earl\u2019s Court to Kensington (Olympia) from Friday, April 3 \u2013 Monday, April 6<\/p>\n<p>Northern line \u2013 No service between Camden Town and Kennington via Bank from data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/heathrow-airport\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Heathrow<\/a> T4 after 10pm<br \/>\nTrains won\u2019t stop at Acton
