Not forgetting the amusement arcade, which gets a massive thumbs up from me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Meanwhile, another traveller gave a glowing account of their visit, claiming the pier had &#8220;all the charm of a classic British seaside&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">They added: &#8220;Firstly it&#8217;s free! You&#8217;re met at the beginning by little shops selling sweet food and souvenirs etc&#8230; the usual doughnuts, candy floss, fish and chips&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">They went on to describe just how much there is to enjoy along the pier. I read the messages as I strolled along the pier and took in the views as I sat on a couple of them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">One of the standout attractions on the much-loved pier is a breathtaking Ferris wheel, offering stunning panoramic views of the pier and its surroundings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Reaching an impressive 70 feet tall, the ride features 18 gondolas, each capable of accommodating up to six people, making it a perfect choice for a family outing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Even more remarkable, when darkness falls, the illuminations switch on, transforming the Ferris wheel into something reminiscent of the Vegas Strip, with more than 10,000 lights brightening up the pier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">It&#8217;s worth bearing in mind, though, that during the winter months when the coastal weather becomes too rough, the Ferris wheel typically embarks on tour and can be enjoyed at different venues throughout the UK.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The stunning pier itself stays open throughout the year, apart from Christmas Day, though it naturally becomes more crowded during school breaks.
