A social media<\/a> influencer who tried to smuggle more than \u00a3150,000 of cannabis through Edinburgh Airport<\/a> is facing jail.<\/p>\n Ellie Crampsie was arrested after she was allegedly found with more than 17kg of the drug in her luggage as she arrived back in the UK from a holiday in Thailand<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n The 23-year-old pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis to others on March 26 at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.<\/p>\n Crampsie, of Broomhouse, Glasgow, runs her own beauty business and also promotes events and nights out in the city to thousands of social media followers.<\/p>\n Emma Laing, the prosecutor, told the court Crampsie was stopped by Border Force officers in April last year, having flown to the Scottish capital from Thailand via Paris<\/a>.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tSign up for all of the latest stories\t\t\t<\/p>\n Start your day informed with Metro’s News Updates<\/a> newsletter or get Breaking News<\/a> alerts the moment it happens. <\/p>\n \t\t Ms Laing said: \u2018She was asked the usual questions by the officer and she confirmed she had travelled from Thailand.<\/p>\n \u2018Her luggage was opened and a number of vacuum packages were within.\u2019<\/p>\n The court heard she was found with 17 separate sealed packs of cannabis with between \u00a3115,000 and \u00a3151,000 of the class-B drug in total in her suitcase.<\/p>\n Crampsie\u2019s defence lawyer said the woman had \u2018the benefit of the support of her parents who have attended court today\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n Sheriff Graeme Watson said: \u2018I\u2019m going to adjourn sentencing in this case to allow the court to obtain a criminal justice social work<\/a> report and a restriction of liberty assessment.<\/p>\n \u2018In the meantime, I am going to continue your bail conditions.<\/p>\n \u2018That should be no prejudgment of what comes next, all sentencing options will be open to me on the next occasion, do you understand that?\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t Crampsie\u2019s case follows that of a young mother who avoided jail<\/a> after she tried to smuggle \u00a3285,000 worth of cannabis into the UK from Thailand.<\/p>\n Poppie Kudieersky, 22, claimed traffickers would have murdered her child unless she agreed to be a drug mule.<\/p>\n She was arrested after customs officers at Manchester Airport<\/a> stopped a companion she had been travelling with and seized two suitcases containing 28.5kg of the drug.<\/p>\n Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@metro.co.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n For more stories like this, check our news page<\/a>.<\/p>\n Arrow Arrow Arrow![\"Influencer](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/SEI_291445138-cf52.jpg\")
