She was not joined by other members of the royal family, although <a class=\"hm-link he-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hellomagazine.com\/tags\/princess-anne\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"article-body-link\">Princess Anne<\/a> had <a class=\"hm-link he-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hellomagazine.com\/royalty\/897833\/princess-anne-looks-regal-in-emerald-green-coat-and-hat-at-dawn-anzac-day-service\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"article-body-link\">attended the dawn service at Wellington Arch<\/a>, Hyde Park Corner in the early hours of the morning.<\/p>\n<p id=\"eTuq29fcbsy\" data-wc=\"27\">After she laid her wreath on behalf of her father-in-law <a class=\"hm-link he-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hellomagazine.com\/tags\/king-charles\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"article-body-link\">King Charles<\/a>, Kate walked to Westminster Abbey, where she also attended the service of commemoration and thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<p id=\"e---IYctlkJ\" data-wc=\"68\">Anzac Day has been observed in London since King George V attended the first service at Westminster Abbey in 1916 to mark the anniversary of the landings at Gallipoli. Since then, it has become a time to honour Australians and New Zealanders who have died in conflict. Anzac Day is commemorated as a public holiday in both Australia and New Zealand, with memorial ceremonies held at various locations.<\/p>\n<p id=\"eDXX-EA-Le\" data-wc=\"43\">Earlier on Saturday, the royal family&#8217;s official Instagram account shared a poignant message that read: &#8220;Today is #ANZACDAY\u00a0\u2013 which honours the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps
