A six-year-old child has died after being hit by a car in Paisley. Emergency services<\/a> were called to Johnston Street in the town after the horrifying incident happened at around 5.30pm on Saturday, April 25.<\/p>\n

Officers<\/a> were responding to reports of two children being struck by a car. Ambulance crews attended and a six-year old girl was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

A seven-year-old girl was also rushed to hospital for treatment. Her condition currently remains unknown.<\/p>\n

The road was cordoned off while police<\/a> launched an investigation at the scene. Detectives are now appealing for information.<\/p>\n

Sergeant Jack Swindells said: \u201cAround 5.30pm on Saturday, April 25, 2026, police received a report of two children being struck by a car on Johnston Street, Paisley.<\/p>\n

\u201cEmergency services attended and a 6-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene. A 7-year-old girl was taken to hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

\u201cEnquiries remain ongoing and our thoughts are with the family of the girl who died. They ask that their privacy is respected at this time.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would ask anyone who witnessed the incident to please call police on 101, quoting reference 2786 of April 25.\u201d<\/p>\n
