Courtesy the artist and Sadie Coles HQ, London<\/p>\n<p>Opening in Autumn 2026, the ambitious exhibition will bring together more than 100 works by nearly 70 artists, photographers and designers, charting a decade defined by raw experimentation, anti-establishment energy and a new visual language that still reverberates today. From the rise of the Young British Artists to the radical runway visions of Alexander McQueen, the show promises a vivid reappraisal of one of Britain\u2019s most transformative cultural moments.<\/p>\n<p>Curated with input from Edward Enninful, whose own career emerged during the era, The 90s: Art and Fashion will explore how Britain\u2019s artists, photographers and designers responded to a rapidly changing social and political landscape with audacity, invention and unmistakable style.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition begins in the DIY, anti-fashion world that defined early 90s image-making. Photography by<a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/2011\/09\/01\/corinne-day-the-face-at-gimple-fils\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Corinne Day<\/a>, Nigel Shafran and <a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/juergen-teller\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Juergen Teller<\/a>\u2014created for era-defining titles including i-D and Dazed and Confused\u2014captured a lo-fi realism that rejected polished glamour in favour of grit, intimacy and authenticity. Image courtesy of Nick Knight SHOW Studio<\/p>\n<p>Artists including <a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/tracey-emin\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tracey Emin<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/Sarah-Lucas\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sarah Lucas<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/Sam-Taylor-Johnson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sam Taylor-Johnson<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/Jenny-Saville\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jenny Saville<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/Gillian-Wearing\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gillian Wearing <\/a>brought a confrontational honesty to themes of class, sexuality and selfhood\u2014work that would define British contemporary art on an international stage.<\/p>\n<p>Nightlife and subculture also take centre stage. Edward has a long-standing\u00a0track record\u00a0for delivering\u00a0impactful\u00a0storytelling\u00a0and championing\u00a0diverse and\u00a0emerging talent within the industry.\u00a0Born to a Ghanaian army officer and a seamstress, Edward became the youngest ever fashion editor of an international publication, i-D magazine,\u00a0at 18.\u00a0Quickly making\u00a0his mark within the industry,\u00a0by 1998,\u00a0he\u00a0became a contributing fixture at Italian\u00a0Vogue, catapulting him into world recognition as a leading stylist and cultural contributor.
