Dyfed-Powys Police are at Brecon High School in Wales which was placed in lockdown with nobody allowed to enter or leave with events unfolding<\/p>\n

A school in Wales was placed into lockdown and parents told to keep away as police swarm the area.<\/p>\n

Dyfed-Powys Police<\/a> are dealing with an incident at Brecon High School in Wales after receiving a report just after 11.30am today (April 27).<\/p>\n

The school was put into a perimeter lockdown meaning nobody can enter or leave the site. Police have confirmed it was safe for pupils to remain indoors and that lessons were continuing as normal.<\/p>\n

Lunch arrangements also went ahead as usual with pupils supervised inside and on site, according to school officials.<\/p>\n

In a statement made at 2pm, head teacher of Brecon High School Rob Edwards warned parents and carers not to come collect children at this time, reports Wales Online.<\/a><\/p>\n

He stated: “I am writing to provide a brief update following advice received from Dyfed Powys Police. The school remains in a perimeter lockdown. This means that no one is able to enter or leave the school site at this time. The police have confirmed that it is safe for pupils to remain indoors, and lessons are continuing as normal.<\/p>\n

“Lunch arrangements will take place as normal, with pupils supervised inside and on site. We kindly ask that parents and carers do not come to school to collect children at this time, as this may hinder the safe and effective management of the situation.<\/p>\n

“We will provide further updates as soon as additional information is available. Thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation.”<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Dyfed Powys Police said: “We are dealing with an incident at Brecon High School, following a report made at 11.38am. We will publish more updates as soon as we can.”<\/p>\n

And now in an update police have said the lockdown was caused by a “threat” made online. A spokesperson for the force said: “Dyfed-Powys Police is dealing with an incident at Brecon High School today. Officers are currently working with the school following a threat that has been made online.<\/p>\n

“As a precaution and to prioritise everyone\u2019s safety the school implemented a lockdown of its perimeter which meant no one could enter or leave the school site this afternoon.
